Every thangka begins in silence — a grid drawn by hand, a proportion held in the mind for centuries, and a breath taken before the first line is laid down.
E&A Thangka Artwork was founded to keep that discipline alive whilst making it welcome in British homes. Our pieces are painted on cotton prepared in the traditional manner, with mineral pigments ground by hand and gold applied leaf by leaf. Nothing is printed, and nothing is hurried.
Alongside original works and commissions, we offer a programme of blessings, consecration and spiritual guidance. Whether a thangka is destined for a shrine room or a quiet corner of a sitting room, it is prepared with the same care and the same intention.
